Recently we gave you an early look at the three way collaboration between Wale, Philly's VILLA and Asics. The "Bottle Rocket" as the shoe was dubbed, brings a modern, fashionable touch to Summer patriotism and the partners pulled this off without a hitch. Now we are getting a closer look via detailed on-foot images of this highly anticipated collab. Wale was spotted with the kicks while he mingled with fans during a pre-game event right before an NBA Finals viewing party at the Cavs' home, the Quicken Loans Arena.
The Gel Lyte 3 features a black suede and mesh upper with alternating blue and red Asics logos. Stars can be seen under the mesh on the split tongue and collar and word is that they will be covered in 3M, making the shoe's nickname even more fitting. The heel tab features more mesh and 3M stars while the shoe's trademark name is seen on the heel in red/white/blue lettering. The white midsole gives way to a red/blue outsole while fat rope laces tie things together up quite nicely. Last but not least is what looks to be 3M toe hits, making these a marvel for the eyes.
They have a set release date of June 26th (just in time for the July 4th holiday) and will retail for $160. No further release details are available as of this time but keep it locked with Sneakershouts for any updates.
