Exclusive: Fat Joe Talks Favorite Kicks, Current Rotation & Jordan Brand News

Just yesterday, we gave you the first part of Fat Joe's exclusive interview with SneakerShouts. Today we give you the second part of our talk with the Bronx native and he gives us more about his current sneaker rotation, his all-time favorite shoe and how he ended up getting UP NYC's Jordan Brand account. Take a look down below and enjoy.

SneakerShouts: UP NYC has a great lineup of retail partners but the Jordan Brand has a strong presence in the shop. We also know that a Jordan account isn't very easy to open up. Being that you have strong ties to them, how hard was it to get JB on board with what you and your team are trying to do.

Fat Joe: "Well I don't have the regular retail partner relationship with them. I know Mike personally. Outside of this whole sneaker and apparel situation, we're actually friends in real life. When I first thought of the idea and let MJ know about it, we happened to be in a group setting with a bunch of people. He told me that the idea was one of the best things that I could do right now and right there in front of everyone, he told me that UP NYC was getting the account with no problems. Whatever I needed, they would help me. Simple as that, in front of everyone."

SS: Being that your relationship is so strong with Jordan, what can we expect from your retail partnership with the brand?

FJ: "Like I said before, we're going to open up with a major bang. The biggest Jordan Brand restock that NYC has ever seen is of course huge but our customers can expect to see some product that we'll be cooking up with them."

SS: So you're telling us that an UP NYC collab could be on the way?

FJ: "Oh that's a definite! And not just one. We'll be in the kitchen with them putting in the work on these collabs with Jordan."

SS: Can you give us a clue?

FJ: "Nothing is set in stone but you can expect some fly kicks. Hopefully the other brands we'll be carrying in store will see the vision and allow us to cook."

SS: As far as UP NYC and the impact we hope it can have, it all comes back to the kicks so let's talk shoes. What five shoes are in your current sneaker rotation?

FJ: "I'm all over the place when it comes to shoes. Right now I'm rocking the Satin Air Jordan 1 heavy. I also have been giving the Black Infrared Jordan 6 love. Those are in my opinion, one of the most comfortable Air Jordan Retros. The new adidas Yeezy 350 V2, I've been messing with those alot too and of course I have to have my Timberland Constructs for the fall. I've been wearing a bunch of Nike Prestos as well. Those multi-color Greedy ones are hard. I'm definitely on those."

SS: Ok, those are all pretty solid choices. Which shoe can you say is your all-time favorite shoe?

FJ: "I think the answer to that question may be changing cause there's so much dope stuff coming out but for the longest, my absolute favorite has been the Linen Nike Air Force 1. Those are too clean. I live in Miami when I'm not in NYC and there's nothing like bringing those out with some shorts. I rock those super hard. I have just four pairs of those left but I started out with six pairs. I hope to get a few pairs when they come back out."

SS: So you're telling us that they're coming back out?

FJ: "Well I don't haver any inside information or anything but I think they'll be back out sooner or later."

That's our first full interview with Fat Joe but make sure to keep it locked with SneakerShouts as we will give you up to date information on UP NYC's grand opening as well as a first ever sneak peek before the doors even open to the public.
