Philadelphia's VILLA has been known to bring the heat right when the temperatures normally drop. This Fall is no different as we are getting a full look at their latest collaboration. This time around they teamed with New Balance and gave us a plethora of colors to look forward to. While the teaser shots didn't display as much as we'd like to see, the full reveal allowed us to see how the shoe fulfills its promise.
The shoe's colorway centered around artist Ron English's chosen color palette and blocking that is meant to celebrate how artists and colors work hand in hand in a collective to create not only artwork but better yet, experiences. In any work of art colors don't stand alone as one, but rather form a group that allows one to flow into the other seamlessly while becoming pleasing to the eye. Ron English and Villa set out to bring that experience to the world and their canvas was the sleek New Balance 247 silhouette.
The renowned artist chose a palette of warm, soft, inviting colors that not only stand out but work extremely well with each other. Hues of blue and pink transition from panel to panel on the upper leading to an awesome gray perforated suede toe box. A white midsole with just the right amount of blue/pink hits gives way to a gum outsole that is treated with white speckles, giving the all too familiar look of paint on an artist's floor and surrounding environment. Black and 3M rope laces tie the whole thing together quite nicely.
The VILLA X New Balance 247 is a masterpiece in its own right but the accompanying pin and incredible packaging make for one of the absolute best collaborative efforts we've seen in 2017. VILLA and Ron English have placed another feather in their respective caps.
The collab is exclusive to VILLA stores as well as their online shop and will release on October 21st with an MSRP of $120.
